Hair Loss Treatment

Everyone’s scalp has about 100,000 hair follicles, and the hair growth cycle can be divided into three stages, which are constantly alternating and repeating, namely the growth phase (Anagen): the diameter and length of the hair shaft increase continuously, about 85 to 90% of the hair is in the growth phase, lasting 2 to 6 years; the regression phase (Catagen): the hair will stop growing, less than 1% of the hair is in the regression phase, about 2 to 6 weeks; the resting phase (Telogen): the hair follicle completely stops activity, the hair will gradually detach from the hair follicle, about 5 to 15% of the hair is in the resting phase, lasting 1 to 4 months. The hair will naturally fall off after metabolism, and it is normal to lose 50 to 100 hairs per day. As long as the hair follicles are healthy and not damaged, most of them will grow back, so don’t worry too much!

However, when the daily hair loss is more than 100 strands, it may be abnormal hair loss and needs to be actively addressed and treated. There are many reasons for hair loss, such as endocrine disorders such as hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, chronic illness, immune system disorders, skin diseases, high fever, severe infection, side effects of chemotherapy, malnutrition, lack of certain vitamins or iron, etc., or genetic inheritance, hormonal influence, irregular work and rest hours, mental tension, psychological stress, childbirth, or menopause are among these factors.

Therefore, you should not blindly follow the folk remedies and throw drugs indiscriminately. You should seek medical opinion and find out the real cause of hair loss and make appropriate treatment. The drugs for treating hair loss can be divided into external and internal use. Currently, only 2 drugs for treating hair loss are approved by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration), namely Minoxidil and Finasteride. Minoxidil is a topical drug that needs to be applied to the scalp every day. It can increase hair thickness and prolong hair growth period. It has high safety but needs long-term use. Finasteride is an oral drug that can inhibit the formation of DHT (Dihydrotestosterone male hormone) in the body. Therefore, it can reduce hair loss, but about 0.4-6% of men will have sexual dysfunction. This drug is not suitable for women. In addition, there is an oral drug Spironolactone that can anti-androgenic, but it may affect blood pressure and cause side effects such as breast swelling.

In addition to drug treatment, VITALAGE will also stimulate hair follicle cells to become active through growth factor introduction or water light gun nutrition injection, while making scalp skin healthy; in addition, cases of spot baldness can be injected with steroids locally on the scalp to reduce immune response and help hair growth.
