Botulinum Toxin

肉毒桿菌素

At VITALAGE, we use authentic botulinum toxin products manufactured by XEOMIN® and BOTOX®. Botulinum toxin is a highly purified botulinum toxin protein refined from the bacterium, Botulinum Toxin Type A.  It works to prevent contraction of the muscle cells, and is used to reduce facial expression lines and reshaping of jaws and calves, by relaxing the underlying muscles. Botulinum Toxin injectable is also used for treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) in the underarm areas.

XEOMIN®

XEOMIN® is manufactured by Merz Pharma of Germany. It is a highly purified neurotoxin derived from Botulinum Toxin Type A. Since its launch in 2005, XEOMIN® has already been granted approvals from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Conformité Européenne (CE), and the Hong Kong Department of Health, for the prevention of lines and wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions. The product blocks the release of chemicals that cause muscle contractions, thus softening facial expression lines. XEOMIN® is the only Botulinum Toxin product of its kind that does not contain the accessory proteins, and is thus more purified. It has been clinically proven that XEOMIN® takes effect quicker than other Botulinum Toxin Type A products, it is also highly tolerated with even lower risks of antibodies or autoimmune reactions.
