At VITALAGE, we use Fractional CO2 Laser and PicoPlus Pico Laser’s “Zoom Micro-Lens Array” technology for treatment of enlarged pores, atrophic (pitted) and hypertrophic (raised) scars. While CO2 Laser is widely known as the Gold Standard in medical aesthetics lasers, CO2 Laser skin resurfacing treatments are ablative. Traditionally, the CO2 laser energy evaporates an entire layer of uneven skin surface to stimulate regrowth of new smooth skin. The remarkable treatment results come with undesirable side effects  – long recovery downtime, risks of uneven skin tones, inflammation, hyperpigmentation, bacterial inflammation, allergic reactions, scarring, etc. With technological advancements comes the Fractional CO2 Laser.  With its precise energy control and special hand-piece, the device emits evenly-distributed “columns” of high-energy light pulses that remove damaged skin tissue to stimulate skin regeneration.  This minimally ablative treatment improves enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, and scarring. Since Fractional CO2 Laser removes “columns” of damaged skin tissue leaving the skin surrounding each column intact to aid in healing, recovery downtime and side effects are significantly reduced. Patients may resume normal activities within a few days.
